Patent Court welcomes corrections, citation suggestions, and substantive feedback. The site does not provide legal advice, referrals, or commentary on pending matters.
Send corrections and feedback to editor [at] patentcourt [dot] org. Please put the page URL in the subject line and identify the specific sentence or citation you are flagging. The address is read by a human; expect a longer turnaround than commercial channels.
What is useful
- Citation corrections. A miscite, a wrong year, an opinion misattributed to the wrong judge, an en banc decision not flagged as such, a panel decision since overruled.
- Doctrinal updates. A new Supreme Court or Federal Circuit decision that changes the rule a page describes; an AIA-trial development that supersedes a prior holding.
- Local-rule changes. Amendments to local patent rules in EDTX, NDCA, Delaware, or WDTX, with a citation to the standing order or revised rule.
- Glossary entries. Terms in the field that are missing from the glossary, with a one-line definition.
What this is not
Patent Court does not give legal advice, evaluate the strength of a case, predict outcomes, or recommend counsel. Inquiries that ask for those things are not answered. If you have a live legal matter, consult a licensed patent attorney; the United States Patent and Trademark Office's roster of registered practitioners is publicly searchable.
